Sharon O'Brien



 Sharon O'Brien has been involved with animal welfare since she was a teenager.
Starting at her local humane society for more than 10 years.
She expanded her knowledge of all animals as she worked at many horse stables, and equine breeding farms in both Florida and Michigan,
She also has experience working with veterinarians, for large and small animals.
She continued working for several other animal welfare orgainizations over the years.
She is trained and certified in animal rescue in disasters.
She has volunteered with Sheriff Mounted Units for more than 12 years.
Sharon has dedicated her life to helping animals of all sizes.

Our Vice President/Foster Coordinator
Heather Kiernan

Originally from Missouri, she discovered her passion for fostering animals while living in Tennessee. The experience deepened her love for animals and solidified her desire to give back to the community. She began fostering five years ago, and since relocating to Florida, She has been eager to continue my journey of helping animals in need, which led her to K9 Resque.

 She is a licensed mental health therapist by profession, and when she is  not working, you’ll find her enjoying karaoke, traveling, and spending quality time with friends. At home, Heather and her husband share thier lives with three dogs, one cat, and a cow—each one a cherished member of their family.

 She is  excited to contribute to K9 Resque’s mission and support the incredible work we do for the animals and communities we serve!
